“We need a unifier, and I don’t think that Donald Trump has the personality, he certainly has the skills, but I don’t think his personality would unite either the party or the country.”
“Hi, my name is Dave. I live in South Carolina. I voted for Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020. I will not be supporting him in the 2024 election. I like that President Trump addressed the issues that were facing the country at the time of his election and just took the time to point them out to all the constituents. One of the big things that brought me to Donald Trump, voting for Donald Trump, was the fact that he was not a politician in 2016.
“I believe that Trump was exactly what this country needed. He was not politically correct. We did not need a politician because of all the issues that this country faced in 2016 and currently with the baggage that he carries, the unknowns that he carries, I’m just very hesitant to support him mostly because I don’t think that he can win the next election.
“If Trump were president again, if he was, if he were reelected, I think the division in the country would grow more than it is today. And I believe that the division in the party would grow more than it is today. We need a unifier. And I don’t think that Donald Trump has the personality. He certainly has the skills, but I don’t think his personality would unite either the party or the country.
“What I would like to see in the nominee for 2024 is a softer, gentler. Donald Trump, his policies are great. His executions have something to be desired. I think a more soft spoken person that could bring some. Hand holding to all the issues that he, all the policies and issues that he brought up. I think someone with a softer, gentler approach would be better for the country.
“When the South Carolina primary comes up, I will not be voting for Donald Trump. At this point, I just cannot put my support behind him and I will just leave it at that. I think there are far better candidates out there that will get my support.”
