“We need to focus on the future, we are not going back to 2020.”
“Hi, I’m Jake. I’m from Maquoketa, Iowa, and I voted for Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020, and I will not be voting for Donald Trump in the Iowa Caucus. I believe that Trump has a giant electability problem with the lawsuits that he’s facing. Legitimate or not, or believable or not, it’s going to detract from everything else that we need to be focusing on.
“That is so much more important than one man, as far as where this country is headed, that we can’t afford four more years of fighting this. We need to get somebody in that can take care of this now. I believe Trump is way too focused on past elections and how the media was against him and, but the last thing we need to do is sit here and focus on what happened in 2020 or in 2022 or, we need to focus on the future because we’re not going back to 2020.
“We’re not going back to the future, so to speak, we need to get a handle on what’s coming around the bend and attack that. Even if Trump elected, we only get four years. We’re not going to be able to fix what we need to fix in four years. We need a solid eight year run of a good candidate to try and get back on track, let the next guy step forward and take the ball farther down the field.
“I think that we have several candidates, whether it be Ron DeSantis of Florida or Vivek Ramaswamy or even somebody like a Tim Scott or a Nikki Haley. People like that, we have so many more options now, more viable options, more electable options, that we really need to make a consideration on these people before everybody just, oh yeah, we’re just going to go with him and roll the dice again.
“I mean, we really need to give this serious effort and thought as to what we want to do as a country.”
