“If we want an electable candidate, we’ve got to go with a different nominee…It is critical the GOP moves on from Trump”
“Hi, my name’s Patrick, I voted for Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020 and I’m from the state of California.
“I voted for Trump before because of his conservative values. And in particular the very first election because I could not vote for Hillary Clinton. Biden was obviously not the right guy in the last election.
“I don’t understand why right now I talk to many Republicans who voted for Trump, who want somebody else, what I can’t understand is why most Republicans who still support Trump see the long view coming that he is not an electable candidate.
“I’m looking for a candidate that’s electable with conservative values, that can cross over and pull in those independents, maybe even some Democrats.
“The issues that are facing us in the country right now can be handled by Ron DeSantis, probably even by Nikki Haley.
“At this point in time, Trump has too much baggage to be the Republican nominee. We won’t get the crossover voters who are still going to focus on the Stormy Daniels payoff, the rape trial and the settlement
“And basically, I think that’s what the public is seeing is candidate who can’t get out of his own way.
“Again, if we want an electable candidate, we’ve got to go with a nominee, and that is not gonna be Donald Trump.
“I believe right now it is critical that the GOP moves on from Trump.
“Donald Trump absolutely has an electability problem. He is still disliked by many.”
